A Case of Anti-Dia Antibody

Abstract

|
The Diego antigen is considered to be essentially a Mongoloid characteristics and is
very rare in Whites or Blacks.
The incidence of Diegoa Antigen among Koreans is reported to be 6.14
to 14.5%.
Recently the authors experienced a case with anti-Dia antibody in a
patient's serum, which was detected by irregular antibody identification test at an anti-
globulin phase.
The patient had previous transfusion history during the treatment for chronic renal
failure.
After the identification of anti-Dia antibody, transfusion has not been
done until now, but because the possibility of hemolytic transfusion reactions, special
caution will be necessary for transfusion.
